ABOUT

Hello, I’m Whitney. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of Westmorland Wellness.

My approach to therapy is based first and foremost on building a positive and collaborative relationship with my clients. In every session I focus on making sure you are seen, heard, and feel safe.

For me, there is nothing more rewarding than being able to be on my client’s side, supporting them so that they can build a happier life. I am always inspired by my clients’ resiliency in the face of adversity and pain.

I work with you to find an approach that fits your needs. By integrating talk therapy with mind-body techniques, I provide comprehensive care. My therapeutic style is warm, open, down-to-earth, and strengths-based.

I am originally from coastal North Carolina, and spent time living in Chicago and the Appalachian Mountains. In my free time, I enjoy being in nature, traveling, and relaxing with my husband and our cats Juice, Cashew, and Cortado (Todd).

Experience

I have experience working in outpatient, substance abuse treatment, and non-profit settings treating a wide range of mental health concerns. In each of these contexts, I focused on helping clients work through relationship issues and build more meaningful connections.

I am passionate about the use of therapy as a social justice agent. I pride myself in being able to connect with clients in meaningful ways through conscious respect of their life experiences.
